Job Summary:
The incumbent, under the supervision of the External Relations Officer and guidance of the PMO\/WR, will have the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Conduct media relations by proactively pitching stories about key public health issues and the Organization’s work, arranging interviews, and responding to requests in a timely manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Monitor WHO’s exposure in traditional and social media, and prepare a daily media monitoring report for staff, including tracking the pick-up of stories pitched by WHO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Maintain and update the regional media list and profiles of key reporters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Assist in planning and organizing news conferences, campaign and advocacy events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Draft, coordinate clearance, and support the dissemination of communication and advocacy materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Update the WHO Cameroon website and social media accounts as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Coordinate internal communications within WHO Cameroon, including drafting stories and maintaining the calendar for the WHO Cameroon Intranet and internal social media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Provide support to the Country Representative (WR), cluster leaders, and other program officers in planning and developing information and communications products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Promote WHO country office work through the implementation of strategic corporate communications campaign plans and the compilation of the annual report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Assist in resource mobilization efforts by packaging and disseminating key contributions of the country office through the website and brochures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Provide technical support for crisis management and capacity building on strategic communications, media programming, and public relations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Develop IEC materials and produce visibility materials for showcasing the WHO country office to donors, partners, and stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  13. Oversee the design and editorial content of the WHO country office website, ensuring regular updates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  14. Draft press releases, speeches, and talking points for the Country Representative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  15. Proactively identify opportunities, liaise with national and international media, and organize briefings and press conferences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  16. Monitor international and regional media and update WHO staff on relevant coverage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  17. Facilitate effective internal communication and staff engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  18. Implement other activities as directed by the External Relations Officer, PMO, and WHO Country Representative.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
